Manchester Camerata Youth Forum!

This year, Camerata will commence a new youth programme aimed at offering opportunities for young people to develop skills and participate in new music projects across Greater Manchester; fusing classical and non classical styles and conventions to create innovative events and new pieces of collaborative art.

A key part of this programme is Manchester Camerata Youth Forum.
The Forum is looking for arts minded young people aged 14-19 from Greater Manchester who are enterprising, passionate and committed to their own original music who are also interested in shaping and guiding the development of Camerata youth programme activities and the power of music engagement work within the community

The Youth Forum is a collective of young people from Greater Manchester with a passion for music. If you know any young people who have a desire to make a difference within their community and bring music to a wider audience; whether their expertise lies in singing, rapping, DJ’ing, songwriting or instrumental playing, both classical and non-classical, Camerata would love them to be part of the new Youth Forum.

The forum offers young people a chance to guide the development of Camerata youth projects, become active ambassadors for the orchestra and to have a positive impact and influence on the progress of youth engagement activities through Camerata across Greater Manchester.

The forum will be planning and delivering it’s own youth music projects and the young people you work with could help to shape them.

Forum members can also access:
– Discounted tickets to Camerata concerts and local events.
– Industry expertise, in the form of special guest speakers and mentoring pathways (marketing, event management, project coordination etc.)
– Help and support for completing Trinity College Arts Award
– Experience of working in a team of young people of varied ages and from many areas of the community.
