About Beat Bazaar

TURNING CREATIVITY INTO OPPORTUNITY

Beat Bazaar is a creative and cultural organisation connecting diverse communities through music, arts and cultural exchange, from festivals and grassroots events to workshops and pathways that build real careers in the creative industries.

Beat Bazaar is built on over two decades of music history in Manchester, working closely across the city's scenes — from jungle, drum and bass, hip hop, grime and reggae, through to folk, jazz and classical, from the studios to the stages at the city's music venues and community centres — connecting communities young and old through music, collaboration, expression and creativity. Over the years, we've built the Beat Bazaar name into a trusted and respected one across the city.

We're inspired by the philosophy of Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, who believed music should belong to everyone. This belief sits at the heart of everything we do — rooted in rhythm, creativity and culture, and open to all.

"With music, one's whole future life is brightened. This is such a treasure in life that it helps us over many troubles and difficulties. Music is nourishment, a comforting elixir. Music multiplies all that is beautiful and of value in life."
