The Dancehouse Project

Project start date: May 01, 2022
Project end date: September 01, 2023

Providing high quality workshops in Folk Dancing, Zither instrument tuition alongside other creative activities for children and young people, our Dancehouse Project takes place on Saturdays from 3pm-6pm at Sharon Youth Centre in Old Trafford.

Led by professional artists and educators the workshops are aimed at children aged 5+ and their families, who are interested in learning more about Hungarian Heritage and Culture from the Carpathian Basin. Participants are offered the opportunity to embark on an Arts Award, gaining a nationally recognised accreditation for the creative learning journey.

Due to the high level of interest and popularity of the project, we will also be providing Hungarian folk dance workshops and live music 'Dancehouses' for children aged between 3-5 and adults aged 18+ and on the last Saturday of every month.

The Dancehouse Project works in close partnership with the Salkahazi Sara Scout Group, who provide a wealth of activities, trips, visits and informal learning opportunities for the participants.
