The main aim of the TC2 is to invent, share and practice youth work tools and
techniques by youth workers and youth leaders in order to be capable of
encouraging young people to practice e-democracy and youth participation in

Festival & Event Crew Preparatory Training Session

Friday 10th of June at Z Arts in Manchester from 10AM -2PM

Our work experience programme GoBe Backstage, funded by the Arts Council England will provide a valuable opportunity to find out about the different roles involved in event & festival management, from sound engineering to crewing, artist liaison to stage management, and more. The training will provide an introduction to working backstage at our event,  and the various roles and opportunities available within the production team of a festival.  

The training will be delivered by Beat Bazaar , the organisation behind Góbéfest and G7 Entertainment Services, our partner event /theatre crewing company.  

On the day we will cover some of the following themes:

The training will take place in a professional theatre space at  Z Arts, 335 Stretford Road,  Hulme, Manchester, M155ZA It will be delivered in an informal way.  

Places for this bespoke training session are limited.    

Participants will be expected to be available between Wednesday 22nd of June and Monday 27th of June.  (not necessarily on all these dates)  Our festival Góbéfest will take place between 24-26th of June in Cathedral Gardens and Exchange Square.  This opportunity will lead to further pathways and paid opportunities in event/ festival work.

Góbéfest is the UK's only free weekend long family festival to celebrate the music, dance, culture, food and drink of the legendary region of Transylvania and the Carpathian basin.

Main stage acts promise to span every genre and draw from across the Carpathian Basin, Eastern and Central Europe. Expect to hear a rich variety of live music from traditional folk to classical sounds, opera, speed folk, ska folk, gypsy music and more.

Visitors to the festival will be able to taste a range of delicacies and delights, such as Lángos, Kürtőskalács, Pálinka whilst admiring an array of arts and gift stalls.

The event also features a family activity tent providing hands on workshops in music, arts and crafts folk dance demonstrations, story telling and more.

Góbéfest was established in 2017 to celebrate the little known culture and traditions of the Szekler people - a minority group of ethnic Hungarians living in Transylvania, which is part of Romania. A "Góbé" is a friendly word for a crafty Szekler.

Long term training course on exploring and inventing digital youth work methods and tools in order to support the youth participation and activism of culturally diverse young people based on the impact of COVID19.

Themes of the long-term training course:

Raising digital competences of youth workers to activate participation of youth online. Inventing youth work methods and tools in order to empower online participation and activism of culturally diverse youth such as minorities, refugees, migrants and Rome young people. To create and practice safe digital participation tools for young people based on the impact of COVID19.

The overall aim of the long-term training course is to improve the digital competences of youth workers, youth leaders being able to support culturally disadvantaged young people regarding to the topics of youth participation, analysis of the level of youth participation in their communities, tools and fields of online youth participation, tackling the role of Internet literacy for online youth participation and online activism based on the impact of COVID19.

The project is a long-term training course. It has three phases:

Phase I: 1st training course on online participation and activism of young people especially having diverse cultural background based on the impact of COVID19. ( 7 – 14 April 2022, Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania )

Phase II: Practice period May-August 2022 with the local actions on online participation will be made by participants on support the online activism of culturally diverse young people through youth work activities in local level based on the impact of COVID19.
