Every Saturday our group of young people meet in Gorse Hill Studios to learn to play the Zither also known as the Citera. Aged 4-15 the music group learn a range of songs followed by Hungarian folk dancing, covering folk dance and music styles from across the Carpathian Basin and Eastern Europe. The project is led by professional faciliators who is supported by experienced youth workers and volunteers. The Tulip Zither group is the one and only Zither ensemble in the UK. The group is invited to perform at events, concerts and festivals on a regular basis. If you are interested in learning to play the zither, get in touch and get involved.
